My passion for film originally drove me to work in Hollywood where the cinematic landscape propelled me to create stories. I enjoyed the art of storytelling but I found myself wanting to know people rather than their collective projects. I found that films were incredibly external, and I wanted something more intimate and relational. My pursuits left me with a thirst that could only be satisfied by understanding individuals. Coalescing into a Masters of Science from the University of Edinburgh where I studied and worked for three years.
Just like any other piece of equipment, a manual is required to understand how it works. I hope to teach you the mechanisms of your mind, to help build your own personal manual. This requires a more active style of therapy—one that prioritizes your autonomy as we work through sessions. I will pause you when something important emerges, I help translate emotions into understanding and I explore not just what happened, but how it shaped you.
Utilizing my film-making background I want to help make sense of your story while weaving future chapters. Through a collaborative relationship, I hope you develop tools that extend beyond the therapy room. My procedure is to meet you where you are on your mental health journey, not where I want you to be.
